Theme Group is a design agency based in Woodley, just outside Reading. Many of its staff were aware of Bang & Olufsen products and their design philosophy prior to asking us to advise on an integrated AV system throughout their office.
The company approached Specialised Home when they we refitting a grade-II listed chapel - they had designed the offices to be a sleek and modern working environment, and wanted audio visual equipment to match.
They also wanted a large television panel for presentations, and separate music zones for staff in different parts of the studio to enjoy.
The chapel's reception area was fitted with a Beosound 9000 – the iconic music system that holds up to six CDs at any one time – and a pair of B&O speakers.
The studio area was given a series of ceiling mounted Bowers and Wilkins speakers and several Beolink units, allowing the designers to control the music volume in their section of the studio.
Elsewhere, a Beovision 7-40 was fitted into the boardroom, using a Future Automation bracket so it appears flush with the wall but is easily accessible.
Finally, several Lutron lighting systems control the reception area, boardroom and director's office.
“Not only does all the equipment make the office a great place to work – whether by supplying music or by ensuring all the lights are operated quickly and easily from one spot – but it also enhances our standing as a design agency.
"Our industry is all about image, and by filling our studio with such quality equipment that's well known for its design merits, we certainly get an image boost.”
